Kyra grinned happily at the pokeball clutched in her hand. Now, she had the perfect starter, A male elekid, with a loyal yet outgoing nature. This was just what she needed - And, with her growlithe and eevee egg, she could soon have a great team. "What to name you..." Kyra muttered lightly, before tossing the pokeball into the air. A yellow elekid burst out in a red beam of light and smirked at Kyra, pounding his fists together to show that he was ready for an adventure.

Sitting under a tree nearby was a little Rattata. It was watching absently as clouds crept along the glorious blue sky. Well, this wild Pokemon sure seemed to be enjoying the day.
The Rattata caught Kyra and her new Elekid out of the corner of its eye and its ears jolted upwards. Oh no, a human! Its parents had taught it to be catious around humans and their Pokemon. One of its brothers was badly beaten by a trainer, and a sister of its was even captured by one of these small red and white balls.
Watching Kyra uneasily, the Rattata began to press itself against the tree, hoping that she would just pass by.

Kyra nor the Elekid were aware of the small rattata nearby. Kyra was too busy patting the elekid on the head for a breif moment, before standing up tall and muttering something to the elekid. The small electric pokemon nodded and began walking by Kyra's side, emmitting some small electrical waves from it's 'antenas'.

The Rattata's fur became filled with static when the Elekid began to emit those electrical waves all around. The rat-like Pokemon noticed its fur stuck up and grumbled to itself. It dropped down on all fours and scurried up to Kyra and her Pokemon. Meh, it was going to be brave for a change.
The Rattata leapt in front of Kyra and faced her with a challenging grin. Well, it appeared that the Pokemon was looking for a battle now. It growled at the Elekid, hoping that the Pokemon would accept the challenge.

The elekid smirked slyly at the small rat pokemon, turning to Kyra and awaiting orders. She examined the rattata from afar, pulling out her pokedex and entering the data. "So, it wants a battle, huh? Alright. Use quick attack." Kyra finally ordered. The elekid nodded and raced towards the rattata at an alarming speed.

The Rattata smirked when the Elekid was willing to battle, but it wasn't expecting the Pokemon to strike so fast. The Quick Attack was such a blur; the Rattata only realized it was hit a couple moments after the Elekid struck.
The Rattata stared at the Electric Pokemon momentarily, in awe from his speed. Shaking its head out of that stare, the Pokemon was ready to strike back now. Spinning around, the Pokemon began to use a Tail Whip on the Elekid. It hoped that this attack would reduce Kyra's Pokemon's defense a bit.

The elekid blinked lightly as the rattata used a Tail Whip attack, now a bit confused, it's defense lowered slightly. "Thundershock!" Kyra said. The elekid responded by exerting a few waves of electricity at the rattata.

The Rattata hissed as the Thundershock struck its body, making the fur on its body sizzle a bit. It watched as from smoke wafted into the air from its tail, so the Pokemon tried to swat it away with a paw.
Facing the Elekid again, the Rattata looked pretty annoyed with him. Maybe it wasn't the wisest thing to be running into this battle after all... But, the Rattata wasn't about to give up. Jumping into a run, the purple Pokemon made its way over to the Elekid, throwing itself at him in a Tackle attack.

The elekid was hit by thw wild pokemon's tackle attack, and attempted to jolt the rattata up close with a Spark attack as they came into contact. Kyra watched the battle carefully, noticing how the Ratata was seeming to have second thoughts. Still, the Elekid was thriving to battle, and so it did.

The Rattata's eyes widened when the Elekid used Spark before the wild Pokemon could reach it. Unable to turn back now, the Rattata crashed into the sparking Pokemon, taking some damage when it came into contant.
A little dazed, the Rattata leapt back, watching as small sparks jumped all over its body. The Pokemon tried to move its legs, but they seemed to be stuck in place. Uh oh, it was paralyzed!
The Pokemon looked up at the Elekid helplessly, trying desperately to move, but having no luck. Well, it appeared that the Rattata was open for another attack from the Elekid...

There was no way that this elekid was about to let up now, even though he did feel a bit guilty about hurting the rattata. "Come on, Elekid! Qick Attack!" Kyra announced. The elekid hesitated for a moment, before finally charging at the rattata in a quick attack.

The rattata had no time to move, it felt the quick attack hit and felt like it was the final move. With nothing left to do and being unable to move, the helpless rattata cried out in desperation.
"Rata.. taa..." It cried, if it had the ability tears would have been flooding from the poor creature's eyes, he knew now the extent of the human, and its pokemon. How mean they could be. The rattata cried out in pain once more before closing its eyes and slumping to the ground in a faint.
you are now able to catch the rattata if you wish.
