Well, it was 4pm already... At least the female was now sure that reckless, blond and irritating male was in this Region and she hadn't arrived to the wrong one (even if he never really left his name). But, where exactly could he be by now? 'Surely not here anynore... He never stayed in one place too long...' The female sighed, shaking her head before looking at the Poke'Ball in her grasp. Smiling lightly she allowed the Pichu to come out, the small rodent appearing in a flash of red light before she picked him up.
{Huh? Who are you?} "I'm Yuri, your new trainer." {Trainer? Alright! I was starting to think no one would get me out of that place!!! Nice to meet you then, Yuri, I'm- I'm... Actually, what is my name?} "Well, you're known as the specie Pichu, but I'll call you Nick." {Nick? Ok! I like that name! Well, Yuri, I'm Nick. Nice to meet you!} "The pleasure's all mine!"
Already she was liking this rodent, the female decided, holding him close in her arms as she walked down the route. Maybe Denkou was still around though... Perhaps Molly had been right and he'd fallen asleep somewhere or something?

Well, the Route was kind of... barren. No Pokemon or people were in sight. There were footprints on the path though, all mixed together in some sort of undecipherable mess. Many new trainers had taken their first steps along this path.
However, leaning against a nearby tree appeared to be a Rattata. It was in no shape to battle though; it took quite a beating from earlier. Upon seeing Yuri and her new Pichu, Nick, the rodent trembled and curled up into a ball. No... humans meant trouble! It didn't want to have the life pounded right out of it again!

As much as she would have liked to test out Nick against another rodent - the Rattata already looked beaten enough. So it wouldn't be fair. She let go of the Pichu, who climped up to her shoulder, before going over to the Rattata and kneeling besides it. A slender finger prodded the ball of purple fur softly, the female tiltig her head lightly.
"Hey, are you alright? Don't worry, we're not going to harm you or anything." {Yeah! Besides, you look like you could use a break from battling anyway.}
The female sighing, casting a glance at her Pichu before smirking lightly. He just had to go and state the obvious.

The Rattata flinched at the trainer's touch. <Go away.> it said, curling up into an even tighter ball. It just wanted to be left alone.

"Very well, as you wish then. Come on, Nick." {But...} "Come on, young one. If it wants it's privacy then we'll let it have it."
The Pichu blinked, he had jumped to the ground and was now looking up at his trainer. Finally he nodded, waving good bye to the curled ball of purple fur that was the Rattata, before jumping on Yuri's shoulder as she continued to walk down the road. The female really didn't have time to be wasting trying to coax a stubborn rodent - she wanted to see if Denkou was still around this route - and maybe stack in some last minute training with her new partner before moving on. At this rate she'd reach the woods by nightfall.
Not that she hadn't traveled trhough spooky woods in the middle of the night before. She smirked lightly, remembering her adventures at Iris, before continuing to walk along.

A Spearow glared at her from its perch on a tree.
<What do you think your doing?>

'Pi?'
The rodent glanced up, noticing the bird pokemon before tilting his head softly. His trainer looked at the Spearow as well, before snorting lightly. What was this bird's problem? "What does it look like I'm doing? I'm walking down a route." The Pokemon's glare wasn't one she liked, and her Pichu took this as a sign to get ready. Maybe he'd be battling after all? At the thought the rodent grinned, excited. He'd been dying to shoot around some bolts of lightning - he wasn't allowed to play with electricity inside teh Lab, after all.

<What's my problem? Hmm... Let me think.. You're walking in my area!!! Now get out before I call back up.> it growled, glaring even harder at them. It seemed this Spearow meant business.

"Sorry, but I don't see your name written on it or anything - so I'm allowed to stay if I please. Nick, show our little friend our little welcoming." {Oh, you got it!!!}
The Pichu grinned, jumping from the shoulder of the female and as high as he could, before letting loose a Thundershock aimed for the Spearow and the branch it was off. Being in the air the rodent's aim was a bit off - but he hoped it would hit his target anyway. The female watched, smirking lightly. They'd show this Spearow not to be so full off itself.

The Thundershock hit the Spearow. It didn't utter a sound. After the attack finished, the Spearow was still sitting there. It didn't look burnt, fried, or anything. The bird didn't look hurt.
<Are you do yet?> it asked in an annoyed tone.

What in Arceus name... The female blinked - suddenly rememebering the time Denkou's Pidgey had been jolted by a Skiploom - and the bird seemed unnafected by the attack. What was it's name? Jane? No... Joy? No... Joe? Yes, that was it! He'd been named Joe!
"I knew Joe wasn't a dream! Hah! And Uncle kept insisting I had to be dreaming..."
Seemed she'd forgotten that she was in a battle, or that her Pichu hadn't a clue what his new trainer was talking about. Though surprised that the Spearow was unharmed, his attention was now on Yuri as he tilted his head. Who was Joe?

The Spearow also didn't seem to have a clue what Yuri was talking about either. Why was she going on about this Joe? For all it cared, Joe had nothing to do with this battle!
" You're hopeless! I'll show you how to really battle! "
The Spearow mocked, lifting gently off the tree limb that it was perched on. The wild Pokemon dove down towards Nick, aiming its beak at the Pichu in a Peck attack. Yea, maybe Flying attacks weren't all that effective against Electric Pokemon, but maybe that would teach them to stay out of its territory!

"Ah! Charm!!"
The Pichu did so, acting cutely to lower the Spearow's attack as much as he could - before getting pecked on the head. The small rodent winced, not liking it one bit. Hopefully his Static ability would come into play and paralyze this annoying thing? Meanwhile Yuri sighed, before tilting her head lightly.
How was she supposed to beat it if electric attacks didn't seem to work on the bird? "Hey, how come that Thundershock did nothing to you, Spearow?"
