Unfortunately the storm clouds from earlier hadn’t departed as of yet, nor had those cotton-like puffs given the earth its bounty of rain. However the approaching shower wasn’t the current issue, for on a positive note, this teenager enjoyed a pleasant downpour here and there. Also, her Starter was a tucked away -- After all, a Larvitar, those creatures weren’t well known to take pleasure in the calming and ever cooling touch of water. Although, what was troublesome were the dangers this would create, for one never could be too wary when thunder boomed and lightening danced from above. The mighty, howling winds which swept by were quite annoying to add to the matter, such force causing the grasses to sway violently at her feet and for the leaves adoring the likes of tree to flare as if possessed.
However, this would far from stop her from venturing down this route so that she could begin to become one of the many Trainers of this world. Besides this was one step closer to finding Lyric…

A Zigzagoon burst out of a bush in front of them.
<BOOM!> it cried.

“A Zigzagoon, huh?”
The orphan stated, a twisted smile crossing her face as her thin, but supple lips curled upwards in her glee; after all, she had just entered this bloody forest and found herself a creature. However, in that moment, Yurae decided not to capture the beast adoring ruffles and waves of chocolate and tan hued fur, but to simply battle with him. She already had two Pokémon stored away within her bag, one being her Starter and the other, a secret present from a newly dubbed friend. Truly, there was no need, no haste to catch another one until she saw fit in how seasoned Lyr and Mythril were -- Or at least, she’d really want it. Yet this wasn’t the case at this time, the girl of gray eyes trailing those orbs back to her backpack before a hand reached in through a buckled gap.
Suddenly the Junior Trainer pulled out a Pokéball, that useful device which helped seek and tame those critters, however, this one was already taken. By who -- Well, a little chunky Larvitar, with large thighs, a waddling tail, flaring arms, and a unusually big noggin to be crowned with. Although despite what one might think of the level of activeness Lyr held, he was in fact cute; well, in the newborn babe sort of way. But trying to continue on with her life, Yurae cranked her neck upwards, checking to see if the rain was close by -- And indeed it was, but hopefully a quick battle wouldn’t take too long, to safe her Rock & Ground type from the dreadful droplets of water. So with a powerful thrust of her left arm, she tossed the red and white ball towards the Zigzagoon, praying that it would land close to the beast.
She wasn’t used to throwing those bloody things after all --
Luckily for her, the Pokéball didn’t land in a brush or a tree, this allowing for the object to crack open and for her adorable Larvitar to come bursting out. He was dressed in scarlet for a mere second, before it faded to revile his armor of light green, dotted with the occasional speckle of orange. Once the child caught his bearing, he waved foolishly back at his Mistress, a goony grin planted on his face for all to see. Though instead of waving back to her Starter, she instead pointed behind him, causing the young and inexperienced Larvitar’s eyes to widen in mild surprise to discover a raccoon… thing there. Not clearly thinking, Lyr lifted his right arm and flung it side to side in a friendly manner --
“You dimwit… This is a battle, need the experience if you want to grow strong.” Yurae began, but didn’t bother with many of the details, for her mind swirled, wondering what method to use on the Zigzagoon. “Start off with a Leer, try to lower its defense before using a Mud Slap in an attempt to lower another stat. Quickly afterwards, dash away and prepare for an attack by it, dodge what you can and take what you get well.”

The Zigzagoon whimpered as its defense was lowered. It then grunted as mud was splashed into its face. The pokemon raced towards the LArvitar using Tackle.

The previous two attacks had gone off without too many problems arising, however the Zigzagoon had merely murmured and gurgled out several noises due to the repugnant effects. Yet the small raccoon creature continued on, determined to win this battle as much as Yurae and her Starter were… Well, at least as much as Yurae was anyways. As for her Larvitar, well, he was currently lost in his own world, memorized but thought while he stuck out his fat tongue before stretching it out, trying to touch the tip of his snout. His Mistress huffed at this, picking up one of her slender hands to smack herself on the forehead with -- He was a powerhouse alright, but not the most sane one, sad enough to say.
Perhaps that Ponyta would have been a better choice… Meh, oh well, too late now!
“PAY ATTENTION!
Anyways, it’s going to try to Tackle you head on, and I personally believe you have the thicker and more rocky noggin here, so why don’t you meet its Tackle with one of your own? Try to make it powerful, alright?”

The Zigzagoon cried out as it collided with the Larvitar. It glared at the ground pokemon and used Tail Whip.

“We’re doing good Lyr, keep it up!”
Yurae cheered on, overjoyed that her babe of an Larvitar was able to pull through and play out as the stronger with the duel of Tackles. Well… Of course really, that Zigzagoon’s head was layered with chocolate hued fur, protecting the perhaps tender skull, where as her Starter was crowned with well -- rock armor baby! However a frown came to adore the Junior Trainer’s face as she watched the frantic raccoon turn on it hide to use a Tail Whip, to lower one of Lyr’s stats, but with hope, that wouldn’t be too potent, too affective.
“Don’t let it treat you like that, you dimwit. How about you charge up and throw some more mud in its face with a Mud Slap. Follow that up with another Tackle. Need to start pounding on that Zigzagoon to lower its health.”

The Zigzagoon listened intently as Yurae spoke to her Larvitar, trying to make sense of the gibberish that she was speaking. No, human tongue was somewhat foreign to the wild creature, being young and uneducated about people. However, it figured that whatever the female said to her Pokemon meant trouble for the Zigzagoon.
The raccoon-like Pokemon watched as Lyr sent a spray of that gritty Mud-Slap in its direction, dimly standing there as the attack covered its furry face. The Zigzagoon let mout a groan, and tried to brush away the majority of the mud. It managed to do so, but the attack left its accuracy a tad frail, and spending time wiping its eyes gave the Larvitar the perfect opportunity to throw in that Tackle.
Weakened a bit, the Zigzagoon eagerly returned its fuzzy gaze to Lyr. Snorting in discontent, the Pokemon began to scurry towards Yurae's Pokemon, going into a wild series of barks. Now the Zigzagoon was heading for the foe, ready to counter with a Tackle.

“Use Rock Slide. Let’s try to stop that Zigzagoon before it performs that Tackle! If not, Lyr, try to dodge what you can.”
Yurae commanded, on the sere edge of yelping those words out instead in her fright; that raccoon was trouble, and much tougher than what she originally planned. This was her first battle after all! Didn’t she need to win this to prove herself -- Or perhaps… Many, well, several Junior Trainers were know to lose they’re beginning battle, so it couldn't be too embarrassing. However, deep within herself, underneath her delicate alabaster skin, hidden behind layers of muscle and then a cage of bones, the girl wanted to come out victorious. So with a brave smile painted to her face, the child pressed onwards with hope, knowing that her Larvitar would kick some butt and take some names!

The Rock Slide crashed down upon the Zigzagoon, hitting it across the head and back. The raccoon Pokemon yelped in surprise and stopped right in its track, not continuing with the Tackle attack.
The Pokemon had flinched from the Rock Slide, leaving it unable to strike back momentarily. The attack must've caught the wild creature off guard, throwing away all of its focus to attack Lyr with the Tackle attack.
So, the Zigzagoon merely stood there, staring at the ground with a look of despair slapped across its face. The Pokemon wasn't about to attack, so it was open to another move from the Larvitar. Talk about lucky, eh?

Lucky indeed, so much so that the orphan rose a thin, milky silver hued eyebrow in a mild dose of curiousness and well -- Confusion. But with a mighty shake of her head, the teen managed to jiggle and squeeze out those distracting thoughts, which had momentary taken her mind away from the battle. However her watchful eyes, those pools of gray to be compared with droplets of rain swirled before gracing such vision towards the field once again. As it was, she lacking experience to tell, she wasn’t sure which of the creatures were taking more of a beating and who was perhaps tiring more than the other. Yurae personally hoped her Lyr was doing absolutely fine, or at least better than the dazed Zigzagoon; she also pondering over the raccoon’s state of health. Guilt maybe was forcing her to do so, or maybe it was selfishness on her part, either way, the child didn’t know.
After a mental slap given to her by an imaginary hand, the Junior Trainer pushed herself onwards -- Swearing up and down how she needed to get a hold of herself one of these days. It was hardly professional to do this, to act this way. Although…
No, no, it was nothing:
“Lyr!”
Yurae began, grabbing the attention of her Starter who, sad to say, was currently digging for copper up his nostrils -- AKA, picking his nose with those tiny claws of his. But with a blink given by the Larvitar, he quickly freed that paw from his face before wiping whatever could have been on that hand upon the dirt and grass below him. His Mistress presented Lyr with a sigh, a very irritated huff of air before she chose to continue on with this battle and her commands.
“By what looks of it, that Zigzagoon should be open for an attack, so my dear Lyr, if you please, smack that little critter around with another one of your Tackles. Afterwards, if it is going to strike, try to dodge before you use another one of your Tackles.”

The Zigzagoon looked up to catch Lyr... well, 'cleaning' his nostrils. The Pokemon made a sour expression, not exactly wanting to see the foe doing that. Come on! This was a public battle here!
Hearing the female give another command, the Zigzagoon braced itself for another hit. It didn't have much strength left, so it hoped that it could survive this Tackle attack, and get another chance to strike. However, it wasn't counting on that though; Rock Pokemon were always a pain to battle.
When Lyr crashed into the Zigzagoon, the little wild Pokemon yelped, and was swept off its feet. It landed a few feet away on its side, looking all battered and bruised. Making an honest effort to try and stand up, the Zigzagoon still wanted to continue the battle. However, its body was done for, so the Pokemon collasped again, obviously defeated.

With a jump and a kick, the teen lifted herself from off the ground and into the air with her slender, bony arms spread wide as if to embrace the very wind. Despite her Larvitar being a nose picking, thunder thigh adoring dimwit at times, he pulled through marvelously and came out vicious. Comically enough the Junior Trainer giggled in her glee, that sort of laugh rare to ever grace and glide past the child’s lips; for oh, wasn’t it embarrassing? But heck, there wasn’t anybody around, besides her Starter and a collapsed Zigzagoon that she should have been tending to, but meh -- Yurae was just so excited that she could barely think clearly or keep her feeble knees from buckling under her like a mad pony. Without hesitation nor planning, the girl yearning to release the rumbles and flaring butterflies inside of her giggled once more, and much more louder, where perhaps it would be mistaken for a chuckle… But then:
<Aww -- Well isn’t that cute. You not saying thank you or nothing.>
Yurae blinked nervously, startled to hear a voice other than her own speak out loud so closely next to her own person; especially sense the tone of the voice sounded like a young male. With a snap of her neck, she turned her head about, searching for the host of those noises, preparing to shoot her glare of mental daggers at the young lad.
“Where are you?” Yurae asked calmly and cooling, as if she was expecting whatever it was to jump from the bushes in efforts to frighten her.
<You’re really a blonde, aren’t you?> The voice replied with a child-like tone, however it held an acid tounge.
“WHAT!?” The Trainer of silver locks and strains shouted, her brow arcing downwards as the hell-cat deep inside of her was breaking from its chains. “Okay you little brat, come out where I can see ya! Dare ya to say that to my face!” She fumed, obviously enraged that someone teased and taunted her, saying that her lovely mane was a shamble and was in fact… Blonde.
Ya, blonde her foot!
<Down here Blondie.> Came the male’s voice one again, but this time there was a slur part way through that sentence, as if something was clogging that person’s nostrils. However, just then the teen’s gray eyes widen, a spark was sent through her frantic brain and those dancing orbs trailed downwards… No, it couldn’t be, could it? But hold and behold, there stood Lyr, his pale green armor dim thanks to the shadows of the trees surrounding them, but nevertheless, his orange dots and freckles were still easily seen. A blank expression was engraved upon his what was once cute face, and along with that, his claw found itself tucked back inside his large snout. Yet, sickly enough to further disturb the young human, the Larvitar lifted that arm from his nose after catching a piece of gold. The emotions played across his face changed, now filled with trickery and mischievous as he stuck out his fat tongue speckled with taste buds. The Starter flicked that muscle once, then twice, before it licked up that bugger, that sticky, liquefied dust; snaching it from his paw and slithered it back to his mouth.
<Yo.> He finally spoke after tasting that… nasty treat before making a face of displeasure, making a mental note that they didn’t taste the best. But why did he see little children eat them so much?
“EWWW!!!”
Yurae squealed, backing away from the Larvitar until she felt it to be safe, but then, a more pressing matter arose itself… She could understand Lyr! Which, in her opinion was horrid! She didn’t want him to chat about how buggers tasted and how to press two fat chunks together to make an awkward sound. No!
“Get out of my head. Get out of my head.” The alabaster orphan began to chant to herself, realizing as it was told, a Trainer needed to understand their Pokémon, but then not many met Lyr. However with a sigh, the Trainer managed to settle herself down, her breathing slowing and her optics returned to their normal size. No need to panic, right?
“We need to get out of this forest.” She muttered while holding her head with one of her hands, well just before a look of horror painted itself upon her face as Lyr squeezed his belly fat together.

A Skitty rose from the bushes and spotted Yurae. It yawned, and tried to cover its ears. It had been sleeping very nicely, but this girl had started screaming all sorts of loud things.
<Please quiet it down out there!>

<Well, maybe you shouldn’t be sleeping… After all, it’s the middle of the day, you know?>
Lyr began in a quite manner, however, the creature managed to stop playing with his blubber long enough for him to be given the chance to look upwards. That’s when the Larvitar spotted the Skitty and glared at the poor, sleep deprived beast adoring a coat of oh, about three different shades of pink. Although suddenly the Starter cleared his throat as he dared to look over at his Mistress, who was currently watching the Kitten Pokémon with intense interest. Gees! What was with the females and the feline types? Why in the world were they so great -- Sure they had fur, but they far from had the awesome and devilish looks he surely possessed.
<And besides, she’s my pet. You can’t tell her to shut up without my permission. SO THERE GIRLIE!> The critter of green armor replied rudely, even sticking his tongue out at the stupid cat for it trying to boss them around. No, he wouldn’t have it!
“Lyr that was rude! Apologize now!” Yurae commanded of her Larvitar for it to only fall on deft ears.
<Shut it, Blondie!> He spat.
“Ghaa! He’s sorry, really sorry Skitty. He just can’t express it… Kinda dense in the head…”
