The Pidgey avoided all of the Poison Stings by doing some strange routine in the the air... Anyway, it dove in again and aimed a Peck at the Seviper.

Stalemate was surprised by the aerial manuvuers of the bird, who somehow managed to dodge all of the needles. The snake hissed in frustration and twisted away as the pidgey dove in for another peck attack. he wasn't going to be victim to that again!
He continued to move swiftly over the grassy land, waiting for Mushroom to tell him what to do next. He wish he could simply fight on his own, but having a trainer meant listening to them during battle, so for now he'd be obidient.
"Stalemate? Okay, use, uh, Wrap...!" Mushroom finally came to life after frantically scanning her dex for an attack.
The reptile sprung from his position on the ground, trying to catch the bird in his coils. His eyes flared and his fangs flashed a blood red. Killer intent glinted dangerously in his pupils.

The Pidgey screeched as it was wrapped by the huge snake. It struggled to break free. Failing, it tried to Peck the Seviper's skin.

Stalemate squeezed his scaly body tightly around the bird's body, refusing to let go now that he had a hold of it. He winced as the peck made a direct hit into his flesh. Gritting his fangs harshly, the snake continued to hold his ground. As long as the pidgey wasn't airborne, he could land an attack, right?
Looking from his teammate to his trainer, Fluke crossed his arms expectantly. The seviper was a fool for wasting precious energy to keep the bird down, but a follow-up attack would work well here. The craogunk gave Mushroom a hard stare, knowing what attack she'd choose immediately. Poison Sting would be the only sensible move. And at this close of a range, it could cause some serious damage.
"Okay, Stalemate, good job!" Mushroom praised, "Now, give it a Tail Whip!"
Stalemate gave her one of those "Are-you-crazy?" kind of looks, totally distracted from his opponent. This girl wasn't serious was she? Tail Whip? Now? At the perfect time to strike?
A less astonished look came from Fluke, though his eyes had widened a bit. Then, closing them amusingly, gave a heavy sigh. Should've known.
+You idiot! Whose side are you on?+ Stalemate barked, +Give me a good attack! Poison Sting or Iron Tail or something offensive!+
"Uh, I-" Mushroom faultered, "O-Okay, then how about an Iron Tail attack?"
Stalemate hadn't even noticed his coils had loosened when he'd taken time to yell at his trainer. He turned around, ready to bash his glowing tail on a certain pidgey's skull.

The Pidgey smirked as it listened to the trainer and Pokemon bicker over which attack was appropriate for the moment. Maybe it could use this chance to escape? However, Mushroom had already issued an Iron Tail attack, so there was no time for escpaing now!
The Seviper's glowing tail slammed down on the Pidgey's head, knocking all the sense out of the tiny bird. It screamed in pain and instantly grew limp and lifeless. The wild Pokemon sagged, and made no attempt to counter or move. Hmm, well... Without a doubt, that Pidgey was defeated...

As the light of his tail died down, Stalemate stared coldly toward the bird, as if expecting it to jump up and attack. When it didn't a truly devilish smile stretched across the reptile's maw. His eyes shone with newfound arrogance, and his face seemed overshadowed. He suddenly threw his head back in a single laugh, thrashing his tail about victoriously. Then, the snake looked down to the pidgey and scoffed at it.
+I shut you up, Shrimp! No one messes with me!+
Fluke rolled his eyes. No need to be an arse about it. The craogunk sighed, closed his eyes, and waited to get moving again. That wasn't interesting at all. What a shame.
"We won. We won. We won!" Mushroom danced around like a five-year-old who'd just gotten a new puppy. Then, the trainer flew for Stalemate, arms opened, and pulled him into a mildly bone-crushing hug. "You're the best, Stale!"
+Yeah, yeah,+ Stalemate's happiness drained away. +No need to make a scene, Idiot.+
=You're one to talk,= Fluke murmured under his breath.
"But you won! You W-O-N! And it was your first time, too!" Mushroom refused to let go.
+Alright! I get it, but you don't have to kill me to prove a point!+ The seviper wriggled out of the teen's loosening hold and breathed in. +Let's just go so we can beat up more pests like that.+
=Finally, something logical comes out of your mouth,= Craogunk croaked.
+I beat that pidgey, and I can beat you too, toad!+ Stalemate hissed.
Mushroom didn't even bother with breaking them up, as she knew that they wouldn't go for long. She was more excited about her first victory as a pokemon trainer. Her eyes were closed in delight, her lips turned up in a smile, and her pokemon following behind, still bickering.
She hoped the pidgey would be alright.

A Hoppip flew by them in the breeze as they fought.
"Hoppip! ^^" it said, happily. As the wind died down, the pokemon stopped floating. It stopped and landed on the Seviper' head?

Stalemate stopped abruptly, eyes blank as he felt the extra weight added to his head. The seviper blinked twice, looked up, and stared at the hoppip perched happily on his skull. Mushroom froze, and Fluke looked ready for the show. Now everyone was staring dumbly at the lump of pink that had floated seemingly out of nowhere.
+Would you get off my head!+ The show had begun.
The snake pokemon swung his head about with great ferocity, a menacing, yet comical look fixed to his face. Mushroom soon began darting after her pokemon, telling him to stop, slow down, and not to eat the poor oblivious thing, while Fluke smirked knowingly and watched the three go.
"Stalemate, please calm down. It's just a little hoppip! It's not a threat or anything," The trainer vainly tried to reason.
+No, It's a menace!+ Stalemate spat.

The Hoppip didn't seem it hear Stalemate as it spoke. It clung to the Seviper's head as if if it let go it would die. The Hoppip continued to cling to the snake's head. It wouldn't let go.

Stalemate payed no mind to his trainer, throwing his head about as wildly as he could. He wanted this thing off! his tail lashed in an insane fury, and his scales almost shaking themselves. He bared his fangs more ferociously, hissing and spitting to the pesty little pokemon. He began to even flop around like a beached whale. Anything to get the hoppip off!
Mushroom couldn't help but start to giggle. With his tail thrashing, his head jerking about, and his body flailing, Stalemate looked as if he were doing some sort of break dance. Fluke let out a satisifed 'frumf' as well.
+I said,+ The reptile seethed. +Get the heck off of me, you weed!+

The Hoppip was whipped off the Seviper's head as he began to attempt anything to get it off. The little Pokemon tumbled along the ground, landing at Mushroom's feet. Dizzy from all the spinning, the wild Pokemon sat up and held its head as the shifting world around it came back into focus.
Seeing Stalemate now not too far before it, the little creature began to sniffle. Aww, all it wanted was to have a nice perch... That Seviper was so mean. Suddenl;y, the Hoppip burst into tears, and covered its eyes with its paws. Uhm, how pathetic? It was kind of sad that the Pokemon got all upset for being knocked off Stalemate. Not many others would want the same thing happen to them now...

Stalemate continue thrashing seconds after the hoppip flew from his head, almost as if he was so concentrated on moving as wildly as he could that he didn't notice when the creature was rid from his skull. When he finally did come to a stop, the snake was breathing heavily. His tongue was twitching in irritation, and his eyes, narrowed to dangerous slits, focused solely on his harrasser. Who did this twerp think it was? Did he have some look that said 'Please come land on my head,'? Well, at the moment, all Stalemate wanted to do was catch his breath.
Mushroom, on the other hand, gave the discarded hoppip a sympathectic look, before gasping as it burst into tears. How did her seviper continue to upset the poor, wayward inhabitants of Route One? First the zigzagoon, and now this.
Bending down, panic over-shadowing her face, Mushroom attempted to cheer the grass pokemon up, talking to it in an over-sweetened voice and assuring it that everything would indeed be alright.
"Come on," The girl gently placed her hands around its body and lifted the hoppip over her head, allowing the pokemon to sit on top. "No need to cry!"

The Hoppip sniffled and looked up at Mushroom. Seeing the Seviper behind her, made the poor thing burst into tears all over again. The Seviper must have hurt its feelings badly. The grass pokemon then turned away from Mushroom. It plopped down on the ground, still crying.

Mushroom sighed, clearly at a loss. Geez, Stalemate really did a number on this pokemon. Turning toward her other pokemon, the girl tried to see if he was feeling any more generous now than five seconds ago. She was let down again when Fluke proved to not even be paying attention. The frog pokemon was lazily napping by a misplaced tree not far off.
Meanwhile, Stalemate had recovered from his bout and apparently felt that he didn't have anything left to make the hoppip regret landing on his head. Crying unrelentlessly was enough of a punishment for him.
Mushroom gave him a pleading stare, which Stalemate promptly returned with a 'No way!' look. He even shook his head a few times. His trainer continued with the look, though her seviper blatantly refused any sort of apology, or giving the hoppip his head to nest on.
In the middle of this, one of Mushroom's pokeballs rocked in its place in her bag, and, with a sudden flash of light, a serpent-like figure appeared on the trainer's shoulder.
/Mushy!\ A high-pitched voice barked happily, adding a bark at the end, /Arf!\
"R-Rex?" Mushroom gave her shiny ekans an embarrassed smile, "Where'd you come from?"
/Inside your bag, Mushy, Ruff!\ His tongue hung from his mouth excitedly, /Didn't you miss me, Arf?\
+Great, let's add a psychotic ekans to this,+ Stalemate murmured.
The shiny ekans payed his fellow snake no mind. His attention was focused primarily on his trainer, the only person he would ever carry on a conversation with. Rex coiled around Mushroom's neck, cuddling into her neck, his rattle-adorned tail wagging in pleasure. He even managed to let out a few attention-hoarding wimpers.
"Rex!" An idea came to Mushroom, "Could you do something for me? Let this hoppip rest on your head, or make it feel better?"
/That's silly, Mushy, Ruff!\ The shiny pokemon giggled.
"Please?" Mushroom put a hand just behind the snake's head and scratched, knowing Rex couldn't resist a good scratching, "If you do, I'll let you stay on my shoulders for the rest of the day!"
/Okay, okay, Arf!\ Rex gave his trainer a final lick on the cheek and slithered down to the hoppip.
He let his tongue droop out again and faced the hoppip's tear-streaked face. He let out a a short, high-pitched bark, before nudging the pokemon with his bright, round head. His tail continued to wag, and he made small nioses in his throat, much like a dog's.
/Hey, what's wrong! Ruff!\

The Hoppip glared at the shiny Ekans when he nudged it, expecting it to be that mean Seviper again, trying to make its life worse. Seeing that it wasn't Stalemate though, the Hoppip shook away that angered stare and replaced it with a more expressionless look.
" What's wrong? That Seviper, that's what's wrong! That mean Pokemon won't lemme sit on its head... and it even hurt me when it swung me off!! "
The Hoppip replied to the shiny Pokemon harshly, turning its head to face the Seviper and grumble quietly to itself. It turned back to Rex, with a look that almost expected the dog-like Ekans to teach that Seviper a lesson for being so mean!
